Biography:
Liz Ann is senior vice president and chief investment strategist for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., having held that position since Nov. 2002. In that capacity, she exercises a range of investment strategy and policy responsibilities involving market analysis, asset allocation and economic strategy. She also chairs Schwab's Investment Strategy Council. Previously, she served as managing director of U.S. Trust, which she joined in 1999. Earlier, she held various offices at Avatar Associates, a division of the Zweig/Avatar Group, where she completed her tenure as a managing director. Since 2003 she has been one of a small group of economists and strategists invited many times to meet with President George W. Bush and other administration officials to advise on the stimulus package, the economy and the stock market. At the 2004 White House Conference on the Economy, she served as a member of the President's Panel on Deficit Reduction. In 2005, she was appointed to the President's Panel on Federal Tax Reform. Since 1997, Liz Ann has appeared as an expert on numerous top financial and other television news programs including expert and guest host appearances on "Wall $treet Week With Louis Rukeyser" on PBS, "Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street" on CNBC, "Squawk Box" on CNBC, and the "CBS Evening News" -- among others. She has been quoted by The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, The New York Times and other top news publications. Liz Ann serves on the finance committee of Joe Torre's Safe-At-Home Foundation; is a "Partner in Hope" for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; and received the 2007 Thomas E. Sinton Humanitarian Award from The Tower of Hope Foundation. A long-time admirer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® , she was appointed to the National Board in April 2007, and elected Treasurer and Investment committee chair in September 2007. Liz Ann received her bachelor of arts in economics and political science from the University of Delaware, where she's a member of the Investment Visiting Committee, and her master of business administration from Fordham University. She and her family reside in Darien, Connecticut.
