Biography:

Mike is president of Applebee’s International, Inc., leading the overall strategic direction for all functional areas of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar. His association with the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® spans nearly 20 years. He was president and COO of Morton’s of Chicago, Inc. when the company held its first fundraiser for the Foundation in 1992. Before joining Applebee’s International in 2008, Mike was president and chief operating officer of T.G.I. Friday’s U.S.A. He has also served as president and CEO of Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill and as CEO of Sullivan’s and Del Frisco’s steakhouse chains. Throughout his 25-year career in the restaurant industry, Mike has committed himself to helping others reach their potential. He is active with the Multicultural Foodservice and Hospitality Alliance and also the Women’s Foodservice Forum, previously serving as a member of its board of directors and executive committee. Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. He and his family live in Kansas City, Missouri. Mike was appointed to the National Board in April 2009.
