Biography:

As Vice-President of Marketing & Client Services, Estee Portnoy is responsible for the day-to-day marketing activities of Michael Jordan. In this capacity, she has worked extensively with companies such as Nike, Gatorade, Upper Deck, Oakley, Wilson, MCI Worldcom, Rayovac, Warner Brothers, Sara Lee, Bijan, and others to manage Michael Jordan’s promotions, licensing, media, and advertising campaigns.

During her tenure with Michael Jordan, she has handled his public relations, liaised with the NBA, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Bobcats, and coordinated Jordan’s involvement with charitable organizations and his other business endeavors. Portnoy has served as a Production Executive for the IMAX movie Michael Jordan To The Max, managed the licensing for Jordan’s feature film debut Space Jam, overseen the successful launches of the JORDAN Brand, Michael Jordan Cologne, several Jordan restaurants, Michael Jordan Palm Handhelds and numerous other Jordan-related projects. Portnoy also serves on the Executive Committee of the Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Invitational.

Portnoy joined Falk Associates Management Enterprises (FAME) in 1996. FAME was acquired by SFX Entertainment in 1998, and then SFX was acquired by Clear Channel Entertainment/Live Nation. JUMP.DC was formed as an independent, autonomous subsidiary of Live Nation in 2006.

A 1989 honors graduate of the University of Michigan in 1989 with a B.A. degree in Marketing, Portnoy also received an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Maryland. She launched her career in sports marketing while at the University of Michigan in the Athletic Public Relations office and as a member of the Board in Control of Inter-Collegiate Athletics. Prior to joining FAME/SFX Sports, Portnoy worked in marketing in both the computer software and financial services industries for Manugistics, Inc. and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Portnoy, a native of New Castle, Pennsylvania, is a founding Board of Directors member of Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (K.E.E.N.), a sports program for children with disabilities. She also serves on the international Board of Directors for the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO), and on the Board of Directors for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Her community service and advocacy efforts have earned Portnoy multiple awards, including the S. Robert Cohen Award from the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes (2006) and the Nancy Dworkin Award for Outstanding Service to Youth (1996). Portnoy resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, Elliott, and their three children, Joshua (10), Noah (7) and Daniela (4).
