The National Honor Society students at Bolton High School in Arlington, TN, have been loyal and generous supporters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-South raising $40,000 and granting 7 wishes in the past four years. They are the only Kids for Wish Kids® participant associated with the Mid-South chapter who has donated $10,000 every year for three years consecutively. Funds are generated from the sale of snacks at the school and a large scale Burger Bash in which students can purchase a hamburger lunch versus the cafeteria food that day.
Their most recent wish recipient was Kendrick who was not only battling cancer, but recovering from the recent passing of his father. To boost his spirits, Bolton students invited him to give a motivational speech for their community awareness day. With two other speakers on the panel, he had no idea that all of the festivities were solely for his benefit. At the end of the speeches, all were thanked with one lucky presenter given the chance to play Deal or No Deal. Obviously, Kendrick was selected and won the grand prize of his wish to go on a shopping spree! Everyone was a winner that day as students shared in his happiness.
