Kids For Wish Kids
Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego
Vista Academy $21,800
One seed of kindness blossomed into a playground full of wishes. It all started when twin sisters Megan and Kaitlyn opted to turn their birthday presents into Make-A-Wish donations and raised over $2,400. Their mother Beth is a teacher at The Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, and she was so inspired by the gesture of her daughters that she challenged her students to raise $15,000 in one week. After months of planning with the school and the community, the Vista Academy students rallied together to grant the wish for 8-year-old Ryan and his family to go on a Disney cruise. To celebrate their success, Vista Academy escorted Ryan and his family in a limo to their Friday morning playground rally and presented the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a surprising check for $21,800. The school students were so excited to meet Ryan and his family and felt privileged to play a part in the Power of a Wish.
