WWE® Celebrates 25 Years of Granting Wishes with Make-A-Wish Foundation®

PHOENIX (April 3, 2009) – The Make-A-Wish Foundation and World Wrestling Entertainment® will celebrate 25 years of wish granting together at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania in Houston. The partners will mark the milestone by granting the wishes of 44 children with life-threatening medical conditions who will attend the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

The wish kids and their families will enjoy a full schedule of activities with the WWE Superstars and Divas from April 3-5. Events include a special tour of the Houston Zoo (PHOTOS) and private autograph session (PHOTOS) on Friday, April 3; a private party (PHOTOS) at Reliant Center on Saturday, April 4; and the opportunity to attend a special session of WrestleMania Axxess and finally the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania on Sunday, April 5.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation will also announce WWE Superstar John Cena® ’s new role with the world’s largest wish-granting organization at the private party on Saturday, April 4.

“It’s always fulfilling to see us put smiles on the faces of these wish children as we make their wishes come true to attend WrestleMania,” said Sue Aitchison, WWE’s Director, Community Relations. “It will be particularly memorable this year as we celebrate 25 years of working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.”

For 25 years, WWE has been one of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s most dedicated wish granters, fulfilling hundreds of children’s wishes to meet its Superstars and Divas and attend major events such as WrestleMania. World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. has also made a multi-year commitment to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and its wish-granting activities.
