This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the general office operations and purchasing needs of the National Office. The individual is the primary administrator of the telephone system, liaison to building management, office maintenance and cleaning, national telephone and equipment contracts, and manages the operations/mail center functions. In addition, the candidate oversees the receptionist and provides back-up as necessary.
The candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar environment. Management experience, as well as experience in a nonprofit environment desired. Experience with bidding processes, administration of a telephone system, pricing and inventory control, and office equipment maintenance required. Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize and handle projects under deadline pressure, and exceptional customer service skills are essential.

This position manages the internal operations of the office of planned giving, including the administration of bequest expectancies, the gift annuity program, the marketing program, and project management. The individual participates in the planning and implementation of programs and practices which cultivate, solicit and steward prospective and existing donors with an emphasis on developing planned and outright gifts that require financial and estate planning expertise. The candidate supports the work of the Professional Advisors Council and all work being done with professional advisors. In addition, the individual tracks and manages information and strategies pertaining to all aspects of planned giving.
The position requires an undergraduate degree; an advanced degree is preferable. Experience in planned giving, a general understanding of tax and other aspects of all planned giving vehicles, and the ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies needed.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, discretion with confidential materials, and ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented team environment are necessary.
Proficiency in various computer programs including spreadsheets and database software required; Raiser’s Edge experience is a plus.

The COO is responsible for the executive management of key operational departments of the national headquarters including finance, information technology, human resources, chapter support, mission delivery, compliance and office services. As an integral member of the senior management team, the individual will be instrumental in organizational development and strategic planning. This corporate officer position will oversee the chapter support department, which provides direct support and assistance to the Foundation’s federated system of 67 chapters. The selected candidate will work closely with the Chapter Performance Committee to monitor and manage the performance of chapters nationwide. The individual will implement national human capital strategies that are in alignment with the mission and goals of the organization, as well as direct information technology services and solutions. The selected candidate will also oversee all financial aspects of the organization including audit and accounting best practices, ensuring organization-wide compliance, and working closely with the Finance Committee. The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree, with extensive experience providing leadership, development and guidance to senior staff, as well as managing complex systems and personnel within the nonprofit environment. Expertise in strategic and operational planning, organizational development, information technology, human resources, quality assurance models, consolidations, and program development required. Demonstrated ability in consensus building and establishing and maintaining alliances, as well as effective presentation skills and the ability to travel for job-related functions are also required.
