A wish granted has a deep, life-affirming impact on the wish child and family, creating the hope, strength and joy so greatly needed. What makes each wish even more remarkable is the power to enrich so many others’ lives – from friends, volunteers and donors to sponsors and even entire communities.
— David Williams, President & Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America
![]() Welcome to Wish.org, the online home of the world’s largest wish-granting organization. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we’ve evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the United States and its territories every 40 minutes. In the fiscal year 2010, we granted the heartfelt wishes of 13,580 children, our most ever in a single year. Each volunteer and staff member is determined to share the power of a wish® with even more children this year. We’ve achieved these goals thanks to an unmatched network of Make-A-Wish® volunteers, donors, sponsors and staff members. Everything we do is focused on helping seriously ill children, and we devote ourselves to serving them first: More than 76 percent of each dollar we raise goes directly toward granting their wishes. Please explore our site and learn about our mission. We hope you’ll be moved to get involved. We have many volunteer opportunities to suit your talents, and we always welcome new donors and sponsors. Thank you for visiting our Web site! David Williams |
