Wish Items
The Foundation often includes extras such as cameras, backpacks, photo albums and other enhancements. These extra items can make a wish kid’s day even more memorable. We accept donations of these items and more. Needs vary, so please contact your local chapter before donating.

- Backpacks
- Movie tickets

- Art supplies

- Limo rides
- Handicap accessible transportation
- Film
- Luggage
- Photo albums
- Scrapbooks and scrapbooking supplies
Please keep in mind that the Foundation may not accept all gifts. Here are some criteria we use in accepting non-cash gifts.
- The timing of the donation - A chapter needs enough lead time to use airline tickets, hotel stays and other items that may expire. If there is no immediate expiration date, chapters can usually find a way to use an item.
- Availability of a wish that fits - Sometimes a donation will come in, but there are no wishes that could use it. It would not be appropriate to accept a gift that could not be used when another organization could benefit from it.
- Transferability - Sometimes a donation can not be moved, changed, etc. A donor should be aware if an item is non-transferable.
- Appropriateness - We serve children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18, but sometimes we receive donations that are more appropriate for an adult or infant. Also, we can only accept donations for wishes that are new and/or of new quality. We're not able to give a child your stuffed animal collection that you've had for 10 years. Sometimes, donated items just aren't usable for wishes - but it is possible that they could be used for fundraising purposes. We ask that donors be flexible with their intent in these instances.
- Storage space - Some of our chapters and our national office do not have the capacity to store large volumes of donations. It is possible that we would have to turn down a donation because there is no where to keep it. In those instances, we usually ask the donor to consider shipping different quantities to our chapters.
- Liability - Sometimes a donation may not be safe or within our policies and guidelines. Please contact your local chapter or the national office for clarification.
