“ I wish to go on a Disney cruise”
Sean , age 9
Missouri Chapter

During his wish experience, 9-year-old Sean of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Metro St. Louis got the VIP treatment from beginning to end. With sponsorship from UAW-GM, General Motors, and participating GM dealers, the youngster enjoyed fantastic experiences from land, air, and sea.

The fun started when an 18-seat Hummer limousine pulled up to Sean's house to take him to a send-off party at a local GM plant. At the party, the boy met many of the people involved in putting his wish together. Afterwards, Sean and his family boarded a plane for Orlando, Fla.

In the Sunshine State, the group departed from a port in Cape Canaveral for a four-night cruise of the Bahamas aboard the Disney Wonder. In addition to having luxurious amenities and scrumptious food, the Disney Wonder also housed Sean's idol, teen entertainer Aaron Carter.

Sean and Aaron, who is the 14-year-old little brother of the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, met after an onboard concert by the younger Carter. Also, Sean visited beautiful beaches and spent a day on a private Bahaman island paradise.

The experience proved to be all that Sean had hoped for.

"This was the best vacation of my life!" he said.

His mother, Vicki, noticed the positive effect the trip had on her son.

"Sean smiled more and was happier in those four days than he has all year," she said.

Sail With The Stars® , an agency specializing in theme vacations that enable people from around the globe to sail with film, television, music, and sports superstars, coordinated the unforgettable cruise. The trip was a part of the organization's "Cruising for a Cause" series.
