C.J. is the only member of his family who was not born in Maine. Payson, Arizona, is quite a long way from Maine, not only in proximity but also in temperature. When C.J.'s wish granters asked him what was his one true wish, C.J. asked to go to Maine to visit his family.

C.J. was quite specific in his description of what he wanted in a wish vacation. Not only did he want to visit his family, he also wanted to "build sand castles, eat seafood, go clamming, collect seashells, and visit Santa's Village."

During his vacation, C.J. was able to do everything on his list, and then some. From Maine to Arizona, many people's lives were moved by an adorable 3-year-old boy's wish.
