My Chemical Romance makes another memorable wish.
My Chemical Romance is as polarizing and uncompromising as a modern band can be. But no critic can question their desire to use their fame to perform good works. The band granted its first wish for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®
in 2005. In just a few years, My Chemical Romance has welcomed eight teens with life-threatening medical conditions for amazing wishes, earning the band recognition in the Foundation’s Celebrity Hall of Fame.
Wish kids from around the nation have seen the gracious side of My Chemical Romance – they’ve enjoyed hours backstage playing video games, hung out on the band’s tour bus and enjoyed seats that aren’t for sale: backstage and even with the sound crew. Some have gone home with autographed guitars, while others have been able to try on the band’s stage outfits. Singer Gerard Way also makes a habit of dedicating tunes to wish kids and directing the lighting crew to putting the spotlight on them during shows.
In 2007, the Make-A-Wish Foundation honored My Chemical Romance with a Chris Greicius Celebrity Award for doing so much to grant seriously ill kids’ heartfelt wishes. The band always makes sure wish kids have the best seats in the house – even when that means sitting on stage!
Each wish to meet My Chemical Romance has sent a courageous kid home with amazing memories, one-of-a-kind souvenirs and the reassurance that there are people who truly care.

That's awesome she got to meet My Chemical Romance and hang out with them. I could feel her excitement as I read the story and I'm a 28 year old male but I love them as well. I have a friend who's brother was part of Make-A-Wish although I don't remember the wish he got granted; I just know he passed away afterwards of cancer. It's great what your foundation does for kids.

Wow, reading this seriously almost made me cry. I have been in and out of hospitals all my life, and while my problems are not directly life threatening, they are debilitating. Reading this is amazing, my favorite band that I look up to and admire are really truly worthy of admiration, and that is not a common occurance.
