Like any rough-and-tumble teenage boy, 17-year-old Danny has always wanted to be a football player. Lining up on the gridiron and scoring a touchdown for his team has always been his dream.

It was a very special day at Texas Tech University when Danny became a Texas Tech Red Raider. Before the Red-Black spring football game, Danny's wrists and ankles were taped just like his teammates', and he dressed out in his very own pads, jersey and helmet. His uniform was a perfect fit, right down to the number five - his favorite number – on his jersey.

Out on the field, the opening play of the game was a 97-yard kick-off return. Danny was immediately brought into the game, and he waved to more than 4,000 spectators in attendance, who welcomed him with applause and cheers.

In a magnificent display of football skills, Danny scored the first touchdown for his team. He got a thunderous standing ovation from the crowd as he wiggled and jiggled the end-zone dance that his teammates had taught him earlier that day.

During halftime, the team's coach presented Danny with a framed Red Raider football jersey and an honorary scholarship, which named Danny an honorary Texas Tech football player.

In the end, Danny was the hero of the game, and his teammates agreed that he was their most valuable player that triumphant day.
