This wish story makes me feel:

Zak is a model of persistence and courage. He came to the United States from his native Thailand at age five, and has maintained his bravery, humor and optimism while being treated. He's also held firm to his dream of being a chef.

When the Make-A-Wish Foundation® entered Zak's life, he decided to begin his career right away. Although he could have selected anything in the world, Zak chose to become a chef. But he didn't want to display his culinary talents at a local restaurant or at a cooking school. Zak wanted to become a chef on a cruise ship.

From beginning to end, Zak's wish experience provided moments and memories he will always remember. After a limousine ride to the airport and a bon voyage at the gate, Zak was treated to a water cannon salute as the plane taxied toward the runway.

Upon arriving in Florida, Zak and his family anxiously awaited their trip aboard Celebrity Cruises' ship, Century. Zak said the Century was huge and beautiful, and it was an honor to receive such special treatment.

Before receiving a personal tour of the ship, Zak was fitted for his very own chef's uniform, which included a hat and neckerchief. Zak was equally aweed by the Awed by the gigantic kitchen and the kitchen staff of 150 top professionals.

Zak participated in the chef's meeting, during which the staff discussed what needed to be prepared for the next day. Later that day, Zak was introduced to everyone on the ship's television system. Zak's big moment finally took place when he joined his fellow cooks, and his new friend Chef Marco, for a public cooking demonstration. Following that magical moment, Zak, clad in his custom-made chef's uniform, joined the staff for a group picture.

But Zak's experience was not limited to the kitchen. The family enjoyed the beautiful scenery and weather in Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; and Key West, Florida.

Zak and his family were touched and grateful for the experience, and the youngster is more determined to flambe´, broil, bake and grill his way through life.
