Cold Stone Creamery® Raises $787,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation®

PHOENIX (Nov. 9, 2006) – Cold Stone Creamery executives presented a check Thursday for the amount of $787,976.71, the largest donation in company history, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America at the Cold Stone Creamery located at Arcadia Commons. Donations were collected at stores nationwide throughout September and during the fifth annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social on Sept. 28.

“We want to thank Cold Stone Creamery, its franchisees and ice cream lovers everywhere for their incredible support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and children with life-threatening medical conditions,” said David A. Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer. “Spreading joy is fundamental to both of our organizations, and it’s a pleasure to see that joy reflected in the courageous children who receive their fondest wish as a result of Cold Stone Creamery’s extraordinary commitment.”

All Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and ice cream cake purchases made in September benefited the world’s largest wish-granting organization. Cold Stone Creamery also invited ice cream lovers, for a $1 donation, to have their names inscribed on a special Make-A-Wish® star to be posted on store walls.

For the World’s Largest Ice Cream Social, Cold Stone Creamery’s nearly 1,400 stores throughout the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico invited customers for a free sample of “Cole’s Creation” in exchange for a donation. Many stores enhanced the celebration with special events to exhibit the company’s community spirit.

Cole’s Creation was inspired by Cole, a 10-year-old wish kid from Colorado, and consisted of chocolate ice cream blended on a cold granite stone with yellow cake, chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles.

Cold Stone Creamery’s fundraising efforts help grant wishes like Cole’s. He was so moved by the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, that he wished to travel to New York City and meet the firefighters he had seen on television and come to admire.
