Due to effects of her illness, 3-year-old Isabella spends much of her time in her bedroom. That fact played a prominent role in deciding on her wish from volunteers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Kentucky. The tough toddler asked wish granters for a dream bedroom.

A furniture retailer in the region offered its design consultants and furnishings for Isabella’s dream bedroom at a discounted rate. Working through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, UAW-GM generously picked up the cost of Isabella’s new furniture and gifts.

When the tiny interior decorator started transforming her room, she showed her fine taste. Her elegant choices included ivory furniture from the store’s exclusive collection! She also outfitted her room with a Gingham Rose bedding collection and a hand-carved white ribbon mirror.

“We wanted Isabella’s bedroom to be a safe haven for her. This courageous little girl has been through quite a lot. She deserves a beautiful setting where she can play, dream, and recover,” explained the president of the furniture retailer.

After the 3-year-old’s bedroom set was assembled, representatives from UAW-GM, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the furniture company threw a party for Isabella, her family, and her caregivers. The event included soda and a cake topped with miniature furniture.

Isabella’s family offered thanks to UAW-GM. Their hand-written note read, “Thank you so much for your generous donation to Make-A-Wish® . Your kindness allowed our 3-year-old daughter, Isabella, to enjoy a brand-new, dream bedroom just right for a little girl! Isabella loves her new room and had so much fun during her Make-A-Wish celebration. She loves her ‘big girl bed’ and all her pretty furniture. We’re blessed to have Isabella in our lives and people like you who support this foundation!”

  • I am so happy that the children get their wishes. I know first hand the joy a child gets when they think they have gotten to do what they really want. My niece of 6 yrs had brain cancer with no cure, and to be able to go to Disneyland with her brothers and sisters was something she really wanted to do. Thank You Make-A-Wish!
