Six-year-old Christopher already knew he wanted to go to Walt Disney World® when volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Texas Gulf Coast visited. It may have been because he loves Mickey Mouse and because his hobbies include watching Disney movies. On the other hand, Christopher's father, Jesse, may have played a small role in the decision. Jesse has a soft spot for Walt Disney World too.
Jesse was eligible for a wish in 1985 when he was 11 years old, but he canceled his trip to Walt Disney World when his mother got sick. Years later, Christopher was given a wish and followed in his dad's footsteps in choosing the popular Florida theme park. The two – along with members of their family – flew to Walt Disney World on American Airlines' annual WishFlight, which is a high-flying party in the sky.
At Walt Disney World, the family enjoyed the popular attractions. Christopher was showered with free souvenirs. The family toured the park and had pictures taken with Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse.
Now Chris holds the unique title of being a second-generation wish kid. With both father and son choosing the same magical amusement park, they created a rare wish experience. As Jesse later said, "It really was like getting two wishes fulfilled in one."
