This wish story makes me feel:

The middle school students at Evangelical Christian School worked hard and put their hearts into raising the funds needed to sponsor the wish of a child through the Kids For Wish Kids program offered by Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-South. From flip flop and casual days to other fund-raising activities, they reached their goal of $5,000 and granted the wish of 5-year-old Eli, who wanted more than anything to visit the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Being a huge fan of the popular television show “Blue's Clues”, Eli was thrilled to learn that the elusive Blue had left numerous clues for him at the school, so that he could play a round of “Blue’s Clues.” Eli was presented with a Handy Dandy Notebook upon his arrival, and the adventure went from there. Trying to discover where Blue wanted to go on vacation, he found clues of sunshine, an airplane, and a mouse. With some help from his newfound friends at the school and some time in his own thinking chair, it was revealed that the Walt Disney World Resort is the desired locale. Not only does Blue want to visit the Magic Kingdom, but so does Eli- who learned that he and his family were to depart for sunny Florida one week later! No one could miss his grin, which spanned the length of his face.

Eli’s father not only thanked everyone for giving them such a priceless gift, but also shared how much it meant to his family to have received such an unselfish expression of love. They will forever remember their Disney trip and will always remember the day that Eli was made to feel every bit the star that he is. The students are already planning on granting another wish at this time next year!

  • I THINK THIS IS A GREAT THING TO DO FOR THE FAMILIES BECAUSE NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY HAVE TO ENCOUNTER. SO TO GET OUT TO A PLACE OF THE CHILD'S WISH WITH THEIR FAMILY IS GREAT. THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THESE THINGS HAPPEN FOR THE FAMILES. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!

  • We just found out my niece and her family will be going to Disneyworld through MAKE A WISH in about 3 months. She will be turning 4 just in time for the trip, and was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2 months. The family has never been on a real vacation in her entire life. They have never complained, but sacrifices have been made every step of the way, by the whole family. Now they will have a week beyond their wildest dreams. Thank you everyone.
