This wish story makes me feel:

For high school students, life itself often seems full of challenges. But 17-year-old Diana, who in addition to the traditional teenage trials was dealing with a life-threatening illness, showed her indomitable spirit by remaining focused on the opportunity to create special memories through her wish. And that is exactly what she did.

When wish granters from the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas asked what she wanted, Diana said she wanted to go to her high school prom. The chapter quickly got to work arranging for Diana to have the night of her life.

When the evening arrived, Diana, radiant in her favorite of three evening gown choices, and her dapper date were whisked away in a chauffeured limousine to the prom. A professional photographer and a videographer captured the evening on film so Diana could enjoy her wish over and over again.

For one magical night, Diana was able to escape the thoughts of being sick and realize her greatest wish. With her brilliant smile, in the face of adversity, Diana shared with everyone the magic of a wish experience and the essence of a true prom queen.

Inspired Thoughts

  • This is the best wish I have read about! I remember my high school prom and I feel so happy that you were able to enjoy your prom, too! Hope you are doing well, now :)
