This wish story makes me feel:

Actor and comedian George Lopez has granted numerous wishes over the years for children with life-threatening conditions. His above-and-beyond efforts demonstrate his dedication to the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® – to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

When Lopez received word that Isaiah, a California teenager, wished to meet him, the busy TV star took the time to drive from his home to the family’s home in Santa Ana, Calif., on Easter Sunday.

Though the family was in the midst of moving to a new home, Lopez stayed the afternoon to visit with Isaiah and his family. The day turned into something bigger than just Isaiah's wish; it became an event to celebrate Isaiah, with Lopez blending in like one of the family.

Sadly, Isaiah died soon after the celebrity visit. He had been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Isaiah’s wish had been a “rush wish,” according to Michelle Conrad, program services manager for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and Inland Empire. It was not the first time Lopez responded to a wish request on short notice.

Lopez was recently honored, along with other passionate celebrity wish granters, with the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award, presented annually by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.

“George delighted Isaiah and also the other wish kids he’s met,” said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and CEO. “He understands how much the gift of his time and just helping a wish kid laugh and have a good time can inspire them.”
