Responses provided by Brandon's mom, Jennifer.

Q: Why did you choose this wish?

Brandon's firestation bedroom is fully equipped, it even had a pole!

A: At the time, Brandon had extreme difficulty regulating his body heat and couldn’t play outside much in our Arizona heat. His fire station allows his imagination to run wild and play all he wants inside.

Q: What was one of your favorite memories from the wish?

A: Everyday is a memory! Even five years later, he still plays in his fire station everyday; going on calls, putting out fires or cleaning his rig. Firefighting has become his passion, we have visited firestations all over the country and met some wonderful people! His friends love to come over and play where they can just be kids and have a great time; no video games, no computers…just your imagination and some really cool gear.

Q: What's your medical diagnosis now?

A: Brandon is doing great! For the first time in 10 years he received a great report from the cardiologist in December. A couple of things to watch but nothing to stress over. Woo hoo!

Q: What are some of the highlights of your life now?

Brandon has visited firestations all over the country confirming his passion to one day become a firefighter himself!

A: He is doing very well in school right now and has had very few sick days this year. His passion is to become a firefighter one day and I’m sure he will find a way to do that!

Q: What did your wish mean to you?

A: ”It’s made my life better because I get to play and fight fires all the time and pretend to be a real firefighter"

Q: What do you want to tell people about the Make-A-Wish Foundation?

A: “Make-A-Wish has really helped my life and inspired me with their great work. All the volunteers are super sweet and they really care for the kids. Thank you, Make-A-Wish!"

  • This is my Little Brandon. He is an inspiration to me and many others. I have had Brandon out a my station several time, with one time coming to ride for 8 hrs. Unfortunantly no call, so we went a the local high school, we pulled a hose line and when in to attack the fire. He worked hard and did a great job. And I have been over to his house and played in his fire station with him. It is a living dream standing in his room, watching him play and be a real fireman. Jeff/Noozzle

  • This wish of becoming a firefighter for Brandon has come true in the aspect that he has his own firestation in his own bedroom. I was diagnosed with asthma when I was just a few years old. I understand how difficult achieving your dreams can be because of the illness or disease you are faced with. I am here to tell Brandon that no matter what anyone tells you, just go for your dream of becoming a firefighter. Once you set your mind on becoming a firefighter no one can stop you from becoming one. Never give up hope. I never gave up hope even though I was told that since I had asthma I would never be able to become a firefighter. I wanted to become a firefighter since I was two. When I passed my firefighter's test, another firefighter who I have known since I was in preschool was there to congratulate me. He also has asthma and is one of the best firefighters his cities has ever seen. Shoot for the moon, and if you miss you will land amongst the stars.
