“ I wished to own a horse ”
Q: Why did you choose this wish?
A: I thought horses were great from the time I was a young girl. I was really excited when I began taking horseback riding lessons, just before I was diagnosed with leukemia. When I had the opportunity to wish for anything, a horse of my own was the first thing that came to mind.
When her wish was presented to her, Sheridan couldn’t believe Adamo was really hers.
Q: What was one of your favorite memories from the wish?
A: There are way too many to count! I was so overwhelmed when Adamo was presented to me, it took me a few minutes and explanation from my mother for me to understand that he was mine! Every time I ride there is a new memory to add.
Q: What's your medical diagnosis now?
A: I have been in remission for four years.
Q: What are some of the highlights of your life now?
A: I am currently in eighth Grade at Los Osos Middle School. I love to play soccer and hang out with my friends.
Q: What did your wish mean to you?
A: I honestly don’t know what I would be doing after school if I didn’t have a horse. When I'm not playing soccer, my afternoons and weekend days are spent at the ranch near the beach where my horse is boarded. That’s how much having Adamo has impacted my life.
Today, Sheridan spends her free time riding her horse Adamo on the beach.
Q: What do you want to tell people about the Make-A-Wish Foundation?
A: I would like to tell people, that one of the greatest things you can do for a child is to grant a wish when their life seems to have so little happiness. The Make-A-Wish Foundation makes this possible!

I am so happy for you! it must be so much fun to ride your horse on the beach! When I get my horse it probably will take me a long time to understand that it will be all mine! Your horse is so beautiful and I hope that your horse will bring you happiness all of your life!

I love horses too, but I don't own one of my own. I'm 11. I'm doing a project in school on Make-A-Wish. When I seen the word "horse"; on this site I clicked it and your story is amazing. Just looking at the picture of you and Adamo makes me want a horse even more! I watch westerns most of the time! I love it and when I get my own horse someday I want to do barrel racing. I hope your health is doing better.

Every time that I am feeling down or in the dumps about something, all I have to do is come to the Make A Wish site and I can smile through my tears. The love on this site is enough to make your heart smile. The Make A Wish foundation helped my neighbor's son enjoy a special family trip before he passed. The memories they made keep his memory more vibrant and special.

I'm so glad you got your wish and still enjoy your horse till today. When you fight your battle, sometimes the feelings or the problem wont commpletly go away. but you'll always know that you did something about it and you overcame what you didnt want to face before.
